How Winesrch measures AI visibility for wineries
Winesrch tracks how often Napa and Sonoma wineries appear in AI-generated recommendations across a fixed panel of real wine-country discovery prompts.
What Winesrch tracks
Winesrch measures winery visibility across AI-generated answers from ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. The system tracks whether a winery appears, how often it appears, which prompt themes surface it, and how prominently it is positioned in recommendation-style responses.
Current tracking panel
The current public methodology is based on the locked Core 50 prompt panel for Napa and Sonoma winery discovery. Each completed run collects responses across the same prompt set so results can be compared over time.
Prompt coverage
Not every prompt applies to every winery. Winesrch evaluates wineries against the prompts relevant to their region and discovery context. Napa wineries are measured against applicable Napa and cross-region prompts. Sonoma wineries are measured against applicable Sonoma and cross-region prompts.
Mention detection and entity resolution
Winesrch parses model responses for winery mentions, normalizes name variants, and resolves aliases to canonical winery records. Examples include punctuation, abbreviations, possessives, and winery suffix variants. Unmatched names are reviewed through an internal admin workflow before they are added to public scoring.
AI Visibility Index
The AI Visibility Index is a relative score, not a quality rating. It blends visibility strength with prompt coverage, model coverage, and position quality.
- Mention frequency: how often a winery appears in tracked AI answers.
- Prompt coverage: how many applicable prompts surface the winery.
- Model coverage: whether the winery appears across GPT, Claude, and Gemini.
- Position quality: how prominently the winery appears when mentioned.
Appearance rate
Appearance rate reflects how often a winery appears across its applicable tracked prompts. It helps show whether a winery is consistently present in AI recommendations or only appears occasionally.
Ranking movement
Seven-day movement compares the latest rolling window with the previous period. Movers are filtered by a minimum recent mention threshold so public movement lists do not overstate low-volume noise.
Update frequency
Winesrch runs the Core 50 tracking process daily. Public pages update after completed runs and approved entity-resolution changes are materialized.
Limitations
AI-generated recommendations vary by model, prompt wording, response structure, and time. Winesrch does not claim to measure wine quality, tasting-room quality, or consumer preference directly. Scores reflect observed visibility in tracked AI responses under the current methodology.
Current methodology window
The current public methodology begins with the first completed daily production run after the locked Core 50 methodology was committed. Earlier data is treated as legacy and is not included in current public trend reporting.
